About Christian Cristobal
Development Fellow
Christian is a Development Fellow at Leadership Brainery. He focuses on donor and fundraising initiatives. Christian is a Diversity Fellow at Northeastern University, pursuing Master of Science in Media Advocacy. Being a person of color in Boston who recently moved from Manila, Philippines to pursue studies in strategic communication for social change, Christian is focused on sharing his educational and professional background to initiate social opportunities to make quality education accessible to people of color.
Since 2017, Christian has been an advocate of education equity. Christian dedicated two years of teaching under Teach for the Philippines, teaching grades 3 and 5. Christian continued his educational mission by teaching community engagement, graphic design, and arts management to grades 11 and 12 in a private school in Manila. Christian believes in networking and strategic communication when addressing the challenges of big and small communities. In 2021, Christian rallied his network to address the shortage of medical supplies in 2 public hospitals in the Philippines during the pandemic. Christian also initiated activities to gather donations to provide electronic learning materials for different regions in the Philippines. These experiences made Christian more interested in researching how to utilize media and communication to champion social change.
Christian has a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Major in Multimedia Arts from De La Salle - College of St. Benilde, and a Master’s Degree in Marketing Communications from De La Salle University - Manila. Christian aspires to pursue Ph.D. studies after he finishes his program at Northeastern. He sees himself studying and teaching in higher education social policy and strategic communication for social change.
