Leadership Brainery is a 501(c)(3) organization addressing inequitable access to master’s and doctoral degrees and workforce leadership opportunities for underrepresented talent, including people of color, individuals from a lower socioeconomic status, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Fundraising Fellow

Job Description

Overview

LB is funded primarily by individual donors, which make up over 70% of our fundraising. In order to ensure that our donors are engaged, appreciated, and activated throughout our fundraising cycle, LB is seeking a Fundraising Fellow. The Fellow will work directly with the Development Manager to cultivate supporters through phone banking and acknowledgments. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated individual to develop skills in nonprofit development work and ultimately learn about education equity.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Acknowledgment Material Creation:

  • Prepare and draft thoughtful and personalized acknowledgment materials, including thank-you cards and letters, for donors who have made recent contributions. Ensure timely delivery of these materials to express genuine appreciation for their generosity and continued support.

 

Phone Banking and Donor Relations:

  • Conduct proactive and personalized phone banking campaigns to connect with current donors of varying contribution levels. Engage in warm and friendly conversations to express gratitude, update them on Leadership Brainery’s activities, and reinforce their vital role in supporting our mission.

Baseline Requirements

  • Current Undergraduate or Graduate Student (pursuing a degree in the Boston area).

  • Be responsible, flexible, hard‐working, ethical, and committed to the mission of LB  

  • Possess a high level of organizational skills and be detail-oriented  

  • Possess solid oral and written communication skills

  • Solid time management

  • Possess an interest in a nonprofit career ‐ particularly development and fundraising  

  • Be a creative and optimistic thinker 

  • Possess a passion for social justice

Preferred Qualities

  • Initiative: a proactive problem solver who delivers results without need for constant supervision. Someone who thinks ahead and for themselves.

  • Detail-oriented: delivers high-quality work with keen attention to detail.

  • Team Player: we are a small and growing team. No job is too big or too small for any member of our team.

Fellowship Duration: 

August 28th-December 22nd, 2023

Time commitment

6-8 hours per week 

(M-F Between the hours of 9am-5pm)
