Job Description

Overview

As the Director of Recruitment, your duties and responsibilities are to manage a team which develops and implements outreach and recruitment strategies for diverse talent interested in obtaining competitive master’s and doctoral degrees at Leadership Brainery’s partner schools. This role will network with national entities, and create pipelines of talent from universities, community and professional organizations. You also collaborate and plan with other directors, such as the Director of Development to help determine the organization’s talent storytelling and fundraising strategies. The Director of Recruitment constantly evaluates the department’s workload in order to guarantee optimal recruitment activity. In this position, the Director also plays a mentorship role to key junior level personnel, constantly honing their skills, and readying them for proper implementation. We are looking for equity-minded applicants who demonstrate a keen understanding of the systemic and cultural barriers affecting marginalized communities.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Advocate for Leadership Brainery’s mission and programs.

  • Create and maintain recruiting databases, KPI dashboards,  and department budgets.

  • Identify, develop, and maintain positive relationships with a comprehensive mix of community partners (institutions, employers, professional associations and community organizations) to build Leadership Brainery’s brand to attract top diverse talent.

  • Create a consistent, high volume flow of qualified graduate school candidates through various sources 

  • Development and implement comprehensive recruiting strategies that will guarantee that LB partner schools admit and retain top talent

  • Oversee the compliance of all internal and external regulations concerning the recruitment and selection process.

  • Leverages key dashboard tracking analytics and impact metrics in order to grow a data-driven and technically skilled recruiting team.

  • Ensure we use trending and inclusive language in outreach and engagement materials.

  • Advise and implement social media strategies to increase awareness of LB programs.

  • Collaborate with fellow team members to implement evaluation strategies that measure the performance and impact of our programs. 

  • Research, develop and implement innovative outreach strategies using diversity, equity and belonging best practices.

  • Leverage data and storytelling to support recruitment and fundraising efforts.

  • Track and articulate evolving societal trends affecting educational equity, diversity and inclusion, postgraduate access, workforce leadership, nonprofit development, and other areas relevant to the work at LB.

  • Create research reports on the climate of underrepresented students.

Baseline Requirements

  • Great management and team-building skills

  • Proven experience in aspects of diversity talent acquisitions. 

  • Proficient with program management softwares and technology (Asana, CRMs, etc.).

  • Proficient in social media engagement and content creation. 

  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills. Ability to combine big-picture and detail-oriented thinking.

  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, and to represent LB internally and externally.

  • Experience producing online events using video conferencing and broadcast platforms.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including business and political acumen, social perceptiveness, tact, and empathy.

  • Highly developed judgment, decision-making, and prioritization skills. Self-motivated and able to work alone or with minimal supervision. 

  • Demonstrate the ability to meet time and budget constraints.

  • Must be able to travel extensively.

  • Ability to remain level-headed under pressure, improvise and troubleshoot when needed.

  • Ability to maintain a high standard of productivity despite frequent interruptions.

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Master’s degree or higher preferred.
