About Hafzat Akanni

Program Manager

Hafzat Akanni is a recent graduate of Boston University where she studied International Relations and African American Studies. She hails from Lagos, Nigeria; but, spent most of her life living in Dublin, Ireland. During her undergraduate career, Hafzat was heavily involved in student life. She engaged in extracurricular activities through organizations such as the International Affairs Association, the Residence Hall Council, the Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Boston University Student Government where she served as the Executive Vice President and the First Black Female Student Body President. Hafzat’s involvement goes beyond Boston University’s campus as she has held internships with Harvard Law Schools Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice, the Equal Justice Initiative, and Morgan, Lewis, and Bockius, LLP. In her free time you can find her binge watching Marvel entertainment movies, hiking, or reading corny laffy taffy jokes.
