Title: HBCU Ambassador Intern - Remote

Dates of Internship: January 13, 2025 - April 25, 2025 (10 hrs/week)

Compensation: $1,500 stipend (paid in three equal installments)

Leadership Brainery (LB) is a nonprofit organization addressing unequal access to master’s and doctoral degrees, and workforce leadership opportunities for underrepresented communities. 

 

We are seeking two (2) HBCU Ambassador Interns who are currently enrolled as an undergraduate at an HBCU campus to amplify the mission of Leadership Brainery on their campus and recruit their peers for graduate school readiness resources. Interns will have a demonstrated commitment to leadership and understand the importance of access, inclusion and equity at the highest levels of education. This remote role is a unique growth opportunity for students interested in community engagement, student recruitment, and planning a collaborative campus event on advancing equity in higher education.  

 

HBCU Ambassador Intern Responsibilities

 

  • Leverage creative recruitment efforts to increase your student body’s activity on our online graduate school readiness platform, Dear Future Colleague.

  • Host one major campus event planned in partnership with 2 on-campus organizations or departments.

  • Create content to increase the visibility and awareness of LB across newsletters, vlogs, social media, etc. 

 

Necessary Requirements

 

  • Currently enrolled at a Historically Black College or University

  • Minimum 2.8 GPA

  • Available to attend the Graduate School Summit on Saturday, November 2, 2024 in Boston, MA (Leadership Brainery will cover flight & lodging)

  • Current involvement in a campus club or organization that is in good standing with the university

  • Experience with social media engagement and content creation

  • Ability to articulate the importance of educational equity

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work remotely

  • Must be able to collaborate while also contributing individually

  • Actively interested in graduate school opportunities

  • Ability to meet twice each week for the duration of the internship (schedule to be determined)

  • Must sign the Ambassador Program Agreement if offered the role

  • Be an advocate and change agent for HBCUs and higher education
