Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 annually

 

Description

 

Leadership Brainery (LB) is a 501(c)(3) organization addressing unequal access to master’s and doctoral degrees, and workforce leadership opportunities for underrepresented communities. We are seeking an Engagement Coordinator to support our Strategic Alliances Team which oversees the cultivation of official partnerships with pipeline organizations that are interested in increasing underrepresented students’ access to and enrollment in graduate and professional school. 

 

This role is a unique growth opportunity for professionals interested in DEI work in higher education. The Engagement Coordinator fosters meaningful relationships and facilitates regular communication with students regarding our programs, events, and resources, and serves as an advocate for students seeking support in select areas of their academic career.

 

As the Engagement Coordinator, you will be the main point of contact for the underrepresented student populations we serve: prospective graduate students who are people of color, first-generation college-goers, and/or low-income. You will be a key player at Leadership Brainery ensuring that students are informed about and utilize the full suite of services we offer including our in-person Clubhouse and online platform, Dear Future Colleague

 

Engagement Coordinator Responsibilities

 

Engagement & Recruitment

  • Implement innovative outreach strategies to engage students from diverse communities at our Strategic Alliance partner organizations

  • Execute engagement strategies that are conscious of societal trends affecting educational equity, diversity and inclusion, postgraduate access, workforce leadership, nonprofit development, etc.

  • Support the recruitment of students for our signature programs including Dear Future Colleague, the Leadership Brainery Ambassador Fellowship, and the annual Graduate School Summit as well as other resources including the LB Clubhouse

  • Support the Director of Strategic Alliances to identify, develop, and maintain positive relationships with a comprehensive mix of community partners including universities, employers, professional associations, and community organizations

Administrative Duties

  • Leverage demographic data to implement identity-centered engagement strategies 

  • Support the creation of external communication content including newsletters, blog posts, social media posts, etc. to increase the visibility and awareness of LB

General Responsibilities

  • Represent LB at networking events, college fairs, and other engagements while uplifting our organization’s mission and values

  • Other relevant duties as assigned by the Director of Strategic Alliances

 

Necessary Requirements

 

  • Experience with implementing outreach strategies to engage diverse populations

  • Experience with social media engagement and content creation

  • Experience producing online, virtual, and hybrid events using video conferencing platforms

  • Ability to articulate the importance of educational equity and increased representation of underrepresented communities in postgraduate education

  • Proficient with program management softwares and technology (Asana, CRMs, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to meet time and budget constraints

  • Demonstrated understanding of the systemic and cultural barriers affecting marginalized individuals who aspire to graduate school

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that leverage inclusive excellence, tact, and empathy

  • Excellent sense of judgment and decision-making skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently

  • Must be able to collaborate working in a team environment while also contributing individually

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
