Removing financial barriers for underrepresented law students is essential.
According to the American Bar Association, 85% of all lawyers are white, while only 60% of U.S. residents are white. Nearly all people of color are underrepresented in the legal profession compared with their presence in the U.S. population. For example, only 5% of all lawyers are African American, 5% are Hispanic, 2% are Asian, and less than one-half of 1% are Native American.
These scholarships and discounts will help increase the bar passage rates of underrepresented law students by reducing the financial barriers to preparation tools and support, leading to a more diverse legal sector.
